What drew you to Lead?
On a whim I entered (and won) a contest to be part of this amazing group of ladies by way of the Glam Squad. Instantly, I fell in love with the people, the studio and pilates as a whole! I run and do triathlon and quickly realized what an asset pilates was in my training routine, for my back (which I’ve always struggled with) and injury prevention in general! Jana is a huge wealth of knowledge and she inspired me to want to know more, so when the opportunity came up to take my instructors’ course I didn’t hesitate to sign up!
What do you love most about working with Lead clients?
The positivity people have and the passion they have to learn more about everyday activity and how Pilates can help them be their best self. It challenges me to think outside of the box and to always be striving to learn more so I can better assist people.
What’s your favourite class?
This is a trick question because there isn’t just one! If I had to choose though… I would be Block Therapy and CoreAlign. They are great for resetting the body, helping realign everything and a great compliment to when I am training for a long run.
What don’t we know about you that you want to share?
I have a love-hate relationship with the restorative classes. They are an important and amazing part of my wellness routine, but it is really hard for me to be calm and just breath for that 50min… I’m usually a go go go kind of person. On top of the benefits of the class, it is also teaching me to be mindful and present, and enjoy that down time.
Words of wisdom?
Never stop moving. Our lives create so many easy ways for us to be sedentary every day, we need to find easy ways to incorporate more movement into everyday life. We weren’t built to sit, we were meant to move!
