What are your feet telling you?

Having your feet touched can be a strange concept to some, lots of people are self-conscious of their feet. I often get asked “How can you touch other people’s feet for a living?”. The feet are important; they are the foundation to the body. Everyday experiences like wearing shoes to sitting can affect posture and alignment in your body. Movement can be difficult and we can experience foot aches and pain in other areas of the body. Reflexology helps to reduce this tension (which I’m sure many of you have had at some point) and make those feet happy again. I love helping others, and seeing the benefits of reflexology work with my clients is so rewarding!

What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet that correspond to each organ, part and gland in the body. When specific pressure is applied using thumb & finger techniques to these reflexes, we are increasing blood & lymph circulation, reducing tension and helping to restore the natural function of the body.

How does it work?
There are about 7200 nerve endings in the feet. With reflexology, we are working with those nerve endings on the feet to bring back homeostasis within the body. It helps restore the communication between your nervous system and the rest of your body.

What happens if I’m ticklish?
Lots of clients come to me explaining they are ticklish. Once you experience the firm and restorative pressure along with relaxation techniques, trust is built and you can relax.

Who can benefit?
Everyone, and anyone can benefit; babies, children, adults, and aging-adults! I have been working with clients for stress, hormonal, digestive, and pain related reasons. There are specific techniques for foot conditions such as gout, arch issues, or plantar fasciitis that help to improve your quality of life. Reflexology addresses the whole person and is non-invasive.

I invite you to give this therapy a try.
